UPSC Civil Service Attempts to Change | Penalize candidates Who fail to appear
Union Public Service Commission recently proposed a major change in UPSC Civil Service Examinations. They have decided on penalizing the candidates who submit their UPSC Civil Service examination form but fail to appear in the exam. It is the major issue that UPSC has been facing from the past few years. Since the candidates of General Categories are allowed 6 attempts, candidates fill out the form of UPSC Civil Service Examination but due to lack of preparation, they do not appear for the examination. UPSC has thus decided on heavily penalizing such candidates to set an example for the aspirants appearing in the exam and make them take this exam seriously.
UPSC Civil Service is one of the most reputed Government Job in the country. Millions of candidates aspire to join the Government Sector as an IAS/ IPS/ IRS Officer etc. The competition, as well as the level of the paper, is so high that at times students are not able to take the pressure of the examination and thus succumb on the exam day which eventually results in their absence in the examination centre. UPSC has thus decided that if a candidate has filled out the form, his/her attempt for the examination will be counted as 1 thus decreasing their overall attempts. This is believed to instil some sense of responsibility in the aspirants. UPSC will be confirming the same soon. Keep visiting the website to remain updated on further updates from UPSC.
