The duration of the course is 3 months. The academy prepares students for all the 4 papers of GS, optional paper and essay besides perfecting their writing skills and developing administrative traits in them. Good preparation starts with elimination of all doubts at elementary level, factoring in that we let aspirants undergo 6 hours of extensive teaching with emphasis on elucidating all the doubts at basic level. Chanakya’s ‘Mains Advanced programme’ is an intensive but consolidated program with special focus on writing practice. It aims at preparing a candidate for the main exam in advance much before the result of the Prelims is out. The important topics for the current year are covered by Lectures and Group Discussions which are further supplemented with model tests on the pattern of the Main Exam. The students have to undergo rigorous answer-writing practice while sticking to the word-limit and the time limit.

Optional subject is the single most important subject for a student preparing for civil services as it covers more than a quarter part of Main in terms of maximum marks, and generally gives 30-50% of the total score a student scores in Main.

Considering the importance of Optional subject, Chanakya has designed an exhaustive program for all the provided Optional Subjects which covers concepts, applications and contemporary issues related to the subject. An extensive classroom program supported with Study Material and notes is provided to students. Lectures cover not just a monologue by an expert of the subject, but an interactive brainstorming environment in which student is bound to apply the concepts on practical scenarios. Classroom program is also enriched with class tests and problem solving sessions, in which not just the right approach to answer is discussed, but its presentation is also improvised
